Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Lutton Law Office, LLC seeks a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our small firm located in the vibrant and growing town of Ashland, NE. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized and able to communicate effectively and accurately and willing to support multiple attorneys with various time-sensitive tasks. Our firm offers candidates a small-town environment and the ability to work hands-on with challenging, but rewarding matters.


  • Provide support to up to four attorneys in various areas of law including: real estate, estate planning, probate, entity formation and contract review, tax and family law.
  • Preparation/revision and filing of correspondence, pleadings, documents and more as directed;
  • Research statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources;
  • Handle routine correspondence and maintain telephone contact with clients;
  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing;
  • Consult with the supervising attorney(s) whenever a legal judgment, legal opinion or legal advice is necessary;
  • Basic accounting and reconciliation;
  • Backup support to Receptionist for other administrative and clerical duties; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal form;
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and prioritize assignments;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in cooperative, small office environment and communicate with attorneys, clients and staff;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretion; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Word and Excel.

Qualifications: Education & Experience

  • High school (or equivalent) required;
  • Preference given to those with a Bachelor’s degree and/or successful completion
  • of an accredited legal assistant or paralegal program; and
  • Preference given to those with related work experience.
